November Mystery Reader

Mystery Reader for November

Lowes’ 2nd grade was recently visited by Mitch Myers, morning show D.J. at Electric 96.9.  He hooked the kids with clues about needing a microphone and headphones in his occupation.  He read to them his favorite book, Where the Wild Things Are.  He also gave many details about his profession in radio.  The children were given an opportunity to ask various questions that interested them about his job.   The next day, the students waited anxiously to hear him give a shout out to Lowes Elementary 2nd grade on the radio.
Mystery Reader for September



Dr. Tim Jones, Mayfield Veterinary veterinarian, was the Lowes Elementary School’s second grade mystery reader for the month of September.  Students were given clues about the reader the week before his arrival. Dr. Jones discussed the aspects of being a veterinarian.  Students were able to ask questions and meet Dr. Jones’ dog, Rosie.  The afternoon was completed with Dr. Jones reading  Charlie the Ranch Dog. 

LBL Field Trip

Field Trip to Land Between the Lakes
Lowes Elementary School’s second grade visited Land Between the Lakes recently. Students took a tour through the Nature Station. They learned about many animals from the region. Next, students enjoyed a picnic lunch at The Planetarium. Afterwards, a video was shown about our solar system in The Planetarium. The students enjoyed the laser light show.

August Mystery Reader

Mrs. Amanda Henson, Graves County Schools Elementary Instructional Supervisor, was the Lowes Elementary School’s second grade mystery reader for the month of August. Students were given clues about the reader the week before her arrival. Students enjoyed hearing Mrs. Henson read The Napping House.
